An update from Don Coscarelli
A snippet from a Fangoria magazine interview with Don Coscarelli.
Bubba Nosferatu is still in its very early stages of pre-production at the moment. News seems to be coming through bit by bit at the moment and we are still awaiting official confirmation that the project has been greenlit by a studio. Bubba director Don Coscarelli has, as we have mentioned a few times before, got a script ready for Bubba Nosferatu. We can now report, thanks to an article from the folks at Fangoria magazine, that Coscarelli is happy with the script and is looking for studio financing to allow him to get on and make the movie we all want to see. "In recent months, Coscarelli has also been toiling on his script for BUBBA NOSFERATU, the long-anticipated combo prequel/sequel to his 2002 cult favorite BUBBA HO-TEP. "I've been working on it for a couple of years now, and I’ve got a script [co-written with Stephen Romano] that I really like," he reveals. “So it's now just a function of trying to get the financing locked down. I'm hopeful that in the next month, we'll put something together on it. We've talked to a number of places, but I really can’t be specific at this point. New Line has shown interest—among others—so we'll see who ultimately makes the movie. I'd love to do it, and I’ve got a really cool story that would be great, but we’ll just have to wait a little longer." So nothing revolutionary to report to you today, but positive news nonetheless. Surely someone wants to step up and support Bubba Nosferatu? I certainly hope so.
