Bubba Nosferatu dead in the water?

Bruce Campbell positively confirms that he is not involved with Bubba Nosferatu

The minute I post the message stating that nothing has been going on with Bubba Nosferatu recently then the bombshell gets dropped. In an interview with Fangoria, Bruce Campbell has stated that he is not involved with the Bubba Ho-Tep prequel/sequel movie. In the interview Bruce explains that he is *NOT* involved with Bubba Nosferatu. The decision appears to come from Bruce's concerns over a few parts of the script that has been written by Don Coscarelli. It sounds like these concerns were big enough to jeopardise the friendship between Bruce and Don. The rift supposedly relates to Bruce not liking aspects of the past and present nature of the storyline of the movie. Serious stuff then. So where does this leave Bubba Nosferatu? Will the movie get the greenlight without Bruce's involvement? Is Paul Giamatti still going to be involved without Bruce? Don Coscarelli is in a tough position now. The most bankable aspect of the movie was the massive cult following that surround Bruce Campbell. Now that Bruce is out, what are the options available to Don Coscarelli? Well, he has the script ready to go, he does have studios interested in the project, the original movie was successful. Coscarelli is firmly in the driving seat of the project still. Don Coscarelli has mentioned that he might look to recast Bruce's role with someone else with a similar cult status. No names have been put forward for this yet, but it would need to be someone with the fan's full support. How many people are out there that can fill Bruce's sizeable shoes? I guess we'll have to see what happens in the coming weeks. Losing Bruce is a major setback for the movie, but Don Coscarelli is likely to keep things moving forward. All is not lost!

I have enjoyed most of the movies that Don Coscarelli has made and enjoyed Bubba Ho-Tep but to be honest I am not sure if the Bubba Ho-Tep prequel/sequel movie would work without Bruce Campbell. If Bruce ws not involved then I would rather the move not be made with someone else.

The only guy I can think of that could substitute for Bruce is Jeffrey Coombs. Even then, it would still bum me out that Bruce isn't involved. I just don't get how two guys could have a friendship jeopardizing disagreement over a storyline about a fictional character. Damn. It's just a movie! Just have fun and shoot the thing and please your fans.

There's still one guy who can step into the role. He's also played Elvis before and has nearly as big a cult following as Bruce. That man is Kurt Russell. If Don can get Snake Plissken to step into the sequined jumpsuit, there's a chance this project could yet be salvaged.

I would love to be involved in this movie in anyway possible. It is a great loss that Bruce Campbell will not be wearing the jumpsuit again.

I would have said Kurt Russell as well, there's nobody else that I can think of with the same status as a Bruce Campbell.

Rumours suggest Coscarelli is on the look out to replace Bruce's role as Elvis with Australian born, actor/musician Silas Lulic, he looks alot like Elvis as the nosferatu role requires a younger looking Elvis as opposed to the original being an old Elvis. Can he fill Campbells shoes!
