A little info from Bubba Nosferatu's co-writer Stephen Romano
Not the freshest information, but worth posting anyway!
I stumbled across an interview with Stephen Romano from early 2007 today. Stephen Romano has been listed as a co-writer of the screenplay for Bubba Nosferatu on IMDB for some time. Stephen has helped write a number of quality horror-related scripts in the past (including the adaptation of Masters of Horror: Incident on and Off a Mountain Road). He is currently listed as penning the script for Phantasm V for Bubba director Don Coscarelli. Don is obviously a believer in Stephen's work for him to be working on both Bubba Nosferatu and Phantasm V. The interview at The Phantasm Archives has been on display for some time now, but Stephen mentions a little nugget of information about the script for Bubba Nosferatu. He says: "The sequel will be unique and ballsy also. It takes different risks.". This sounds positive for Bubba Nosferatu. Knowing that there is a well-written script with involvement from two separate people (Romano and Coscarelli) suggests that the script should be well-rounded. Romano is clearly a fan of the original Bubba Ho-Tep movie judging by his comments about it, this can only be a good thing. If he appreciates the original story then hopefully he will be capable of adding similar themes to Bubba Nosferatu's script.
