Bruce still saying no to Bubba Nosferatu
The signs do not look for him changing his mind.
Resta assured that we are indeed still wathcing out for progress on Bubba Nosferatu, the prequel/sequel to Bubba Ho-Tep. A numbre of months ago we reported that Bruce was not going to be a part of Bubba Nosferatu. He and director Don Coscarelli had not been able to agree on a story for the movie and Bruce decided to step down from the project. There has been a good amount of secret hope from fans that Bruce would reverse his decision and would step back into the role of Elvis/Sebastian Haff for the movie. I watched a horribly poor quality video of a Q&A session with Bruce Campbell recorded on the 17th March 2008 (not 2007 as it says!) and in this interview he confirmed the same details as before. He confirmed that he was not a part of the movie and then swiftly moved on to the next question. It is worth noting that Bruce's name has been removed from the pre-production details for Bubba Nosferatu on IMDB. He had been linked with the project for some time, but his name has now been removed from the listing. I think that the likelihood of Bruce participating is fading away. Can someone else step into the role? Should they step into the role? Should the movie continue without Bruce? I like to think that the project can still be a success for Don Coscarelli and hope that it all comes together. More news as we get it.

Bruce "made" that movie. The franchise should definitely NOT go forward without him, I think it'd come off as sadly pointless. I'd hate to see that happen. I don't know what the disagreement over the story is about, but I personally think it'd be funnier for Elvis to have somehow survived after 'Bubba Ho-Tep' instead of a prequel. But I could be wrong. Either way, considering some of the far fetched projects he's worked on (aside from the evil deads), I'd say Bruce is well seasoned as far as what makes a B movie fly or crash & burn. I think he should be given some control over the storyline... Especially if that gets the project done WITH him in it. I can only speak for myself, but I never would've given 'Bubba Ho-Tep' a glance if it hadn't been a Bruce Campbell flick. Doing another 'Bubba' without him wouldn't be worth anyone's time. -N.
I have to agree. I do love the idea behind the movie, but w/o Bruce it would just not hold any ground. This is coming from someone that didn't know Bruce Campbell even existed until he drunkenly stumbled into a local Avant-Garde theatre with some friends at the ripe age of 18, and decided to see whatever was playing..Imagine our horror when the movie started and it appeared to be an early 20th century documentary about Egyptian Artifacts. Thank God we were wrong, and thank God Bruce Campbell is so so right.
